About the Role

Purpose

DM Interim Management (PTY) LTD is hiring a proactive and hands-on Junior EHS Coordinator on behalf of our client operating in the oil and gas sector across Namibia. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate early in their Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) career who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow under the guidance of seasoned EHS professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Assist in implementing and following up on Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPA).
  •  Support the development and continuous improvement of EHS procedures and work instructions.
  •  Work directly under the EHS Superintendent, actively participating in daily operational EHS tasks.
  •  Maintain and update EHS databases, reports, and tracking systems.
  •  Manage PPE stock and safety equipment across sites.
  •  Support the delivery of on-site health and safety training sessions and toolbox talks.
  •  Take part in daily EHS meetings, inspections, and hazard identification walkthroughs.
  •  Assist in conducting internal audits and compliance checks to ensure system effectiveness.
  •  Support incident investigations by gathering data, interviewing witnesses, and contributing to root cause analysis and the development of preventative measures.

Requirements:

  • High School Certificate.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene) with EHS-related training or certifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an EHS role, preferably in oil & gas, mining, or construction.
  • Understanding of EHS regulations and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001) is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, field-ready, and committed to fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
